About the line

Commuter train line 43 is one of the longer routes in Stockholm's commuter network, linking Bålsta in the northwest with Nynäshamn in the south through the underground Citybanan and its Stockholm Odenplan and Stockholm City stations. It connects communities including Kungsängen, Farsta strand, Handen and Västerhaninge. The Kungsängen–Bålsta section opened in 2001, giving Bålsta a commuter connection alongside long-distance trains, while service south reached Jordbro on 18 June 1973. Citybanan gave the route a new path through the centre when it opened on 10 July 2017, and the current numbering was introduced on 10 December 2017. At the southern end, Gröndalsviken opened on 18 August 2008 to replace Nynäs havsbad.
