About the line
Blue line service 10 runs between Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm and Hjulsta in the northwest and serves 14 stations. The route was built mainly for the large residential districts, including Tensta and Rinkeby, developed in northwestern Stockholm. The first section between Hjulsta and T-Centralen opened on 31 August 1975, followed by Kungsträdgården on 30 October 1977. Almost the entire route is underground, and its 14.3-kilometre tunnel is the longest in the Metro system. Several stations feature major artworks: Takashi Naraha created "Heaven of Cube" at Solna strand in 1985, while Ulrik Samuelson designed Kungsträdgården's cavern-like station around traces of the park and buildings that once stood above it.
