About the station and area
Stadshagen opened on 31 August 1975 and is a mountain station that has been blasted out of the rock. Prior to the construction of the new rock stations, the site was used to test techniques such as drainage, reinforcement and shotcrete. The station is located on western Kungsholmen, near Stadshagen's sports field and Sankt Göran's hospital at S:t Göransgatan. The platform's artistic decoration by Lasse Lindqvist shows sports motifs painted on folded sheet metal, with summer sports at one end and winter sports at the other, and the motifs change depending on where you stand.
