About the line

Line 17 is one of three services on the Green line, Stockholm's oldest Metro line, whose first section opened on 1 October 1950. It runs through central stations including T-Centralen and Gamla stan before heading south. Its eastern terminus, Skarpnäck, opened on 15 August 1994 as the Metro's 100th station and is the network's easternmost; the rock cavern 25 metres underground contains Richard Nonas's seventeen bench-like dark-granite sculptures. Line 17 shares the western branch to Hässelby strand with lines 18 and 19. Hässelby strand has an outdoor platform and a ticket hall decorated in 2000 with Christian Partos's "Teleportations". Trains can also turn at Vällingby, Åkeshov, Alvik, Odenplan or Hötorget.
