About the line

Line 11 is a branch of Stockholm Metro's Blue line, running between Akalla and Kungsträdgården through twelve stations, excluding the unfinished Kymlinge station between Kista and Hallonbergen. The Akalla branch was built mainly for the northwestern suburbs created during the Million Programme and serves Akalla, Husby and Kista. The shared T-Centralen–Hallonbergen section opened on 31 August 1975, Hallonbergen–Akalla on 5 June 1977, and T-Centralen–Kungsträdgården on 30 October that year; line 11 separates from line 10 at Västra skogen. At Akalla, Birgit Ståhl-Nyberg covered the ochre walls with six ceramic paintings completed in 1977. Ulrik Samuelson's Kungsträdgården station lies 29.3 metres below sea level, the lowest point in the Metro.
