About the line

Line 18 is one of three Green line services and runs through 35 stations between Hässelby strand and Farsta strand. The Green line opened in 1950 as the first Metro line in the Nordic countries. It follows one branch north of the city and divides into three south of the centre; line 18 shares the central trunk through T-Centralen, Gamla stan and Slussen. The route passes several planned postwar suburbs, including the ABC towns of Vällingby and Farsta. Hässelby strand opened on 18 November 1958 and has featured Christian Partos's clinker-mosaic work "Teleportations" since 2000, while Farsta strand opened on 29 August 1971 beside the commuter train station of the same name.
