About the station and area
Sandsborg was inaugurated on 1 October 1950 and is a ground station with an outdoor platform, without the cave environment that characterizes many of the subway's later stations. The station is located in the Gamla Enskede district in Söderort and serves, among other things, the Sandsborg cemetery, whose main entrance is in the northern part of the cemetery, closest to the subway station. The cemetery was inaugurated in 1895 and is located immediately north of the Forest Cemetery, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
