About the station and area
S:t Eriksplan was opened on 26 October 1952 in connection with the inauguration of the subway section Hötorget–Vällingby. The station is located in Vasastan and has a platform about eight meters below the street. The platform has walls with tiles but lacks artistic decoration, unlike many other subway stations in Stockholm. Travelers reach the street level via two ticket halls, one at Sankt Eriksplan and one at the intersection of Torsgatan and Sankt Eriksgatan. In the immediate area is Vasaparken and Bonnierhuset at Torsgatan.
