About the station and area
Hässelby strand was inaugurated on 18 November 1958 and is the green line's north-western terminus. The platform is located outdoors at ground level instead of in a rock room. In the ticket hall and walkway is Christian Parto's work Teleportingar from 2000, executed in tile and cement mosaic. The station is located in the Hässelby beach district in Västerort. About five minutes' walk away is Maltesholmsbadet, an open-air swimming pool with a sandy beach at Lambarfjärden in Mälaren, next to the Grimsta nature reserve.
