About the station and area
Näckrosen opened on August 31, 1975, when the Blue Line was inaugurated, and is located in a rock room about 21 meters underground, under the former Filmstaden. The station is the only one in the subway with risers in two municipalities: the platform and the southern ticket hall are located in Råsunda in Solna, while the northern riser reaches Storskogstorget in Storskogen in Sundbyberg. The artistic decoration is by Lizzie Olsson-Arle and alludes to the location's film history with displays displaying film props and photos from Filmstaden, combined with a collage of texts, stones, pieces of tiled stove and glazed brick.
