About the station and area
Tekniska högskolan was inaugurated on 30 September 1973 and is one of the subway's early rock room stations, where the walls follow the contours of the blasted primordial rock. The artistic decoration by Lennart Mörk takes up the theme of elements and natural laws with, among other things, the five Platonic solids, Newton's apple and quotes from the history of science around Polhem, da Vinci, Newton, Copernicus and Kepler. The station, which was awarded the Kasper Salin prize in 1973, is located in the borderland between Östermalm and Norra Djurgården and serves the area around the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
