About the station and area
Bergshamra opened on 29 January 1978 in connection with the extension of the red line from Universitetet to Mörby centrum. The station's artistic design, "Voices from the past" by Göran Dahl, includes, among other things, a reproduction of Rökstenen, a rune stone from the Viking Age (8th century), here reproduced in a wall of blasted granite. The station is located in the district of Bergshamra in Solna, which in its entirety lies within the National City Park and borders Ulriksdal with Ulriksdal's castle.
