About the station and area
The station was put into use on 29 January 1978 and is located approximately 7 meters underground next to Danderyd Hospital, after which it was named. Adjacent to the southern ticket hall is a large bus terminal for buses to different parts of Roslagen, and within walking distance is Mörby station on the Roslagsbanan. The artistic decoration is made by several artists: Hertha Hillfon created a work in 1978 on the theme of medicinal plants and symbols in folk beliefs in the underpass towards the hospital, Pierre Olofsson created the work Tree of Life (1980) in plaster and artificial stone on the wall in the underpass towards the bus terminal, and in 2008 Klara Källström added photographic prints on enamel to the track walls.
