About the station and area
The station was put into use on 1 December 1960, when the subway was extended from Rågsved and reached its southern terminus at Hagsätra. Unlike the inner city's blasted rock space, Hagsätra is above ground with an outdoor platform and, at 46.2 meters above sea level, is one of the highest stations in the network (the third highest). In the station environment, there is Britta Simonsson-Örtenholm's wall mosaic with a music theme and three paintings by Per Carm by the pedestrian ramp.
