About the station and area
The station is located in the rock below Hornsbruksgatan on western Södermalm, at a depth of 13–18 meters, with the platform split in two with remaining rock in between. The artistic decoration by Berndt Helleberg has the theme of the Altamira Cave in Spain and is executed in Dutch red, hand-beaten and glazed brick; In 1992, the station was supplemented with stands on the themes of sky, sea, earth and desert. Hornstull has been a town hall where Hornsgatan and Långholmsgatan meet and is today known for the weekend market at Hornstulls Strand.
