About the station and area
Östermalmstorg was inaugurated on 16 May 1965 and is like a rock room blasted deep into the rock, approximately 38 meters below the ground surface. The station's platform walls are decorated with Siri Derkert's work "Carvings in concrete" (1961–1965), where motifs about women's issues, the peace and environmental movement are carved into the concrete using sandblasting technology. The station is located in the Östermalm district and has two ticket halls, with entrances at both Östermalmstorg and Stureplan.
