About the station and area
Sockenplan opened as a subway station on 9 September 1951 and is above ground, with an outdoor platform and entrance at the northern end from Sockenplan in the Enskedefältet district in Söderort. At the station stands Sture Collins' sculpture The Boat of Fools from 1990, a three-dimensional interpretation of Hieronymus Bosch's painting The Ship of Fools, executed with a concrete boat and bronze fools. The station is currently served by the Green Line, but is planned to be taken over by the Blue Line in connection with the subway expansion around 2030.
