About the station and area
Hägerstensåsen opened as a subway station on April 5, 1964 and serves the Hägerstensåsen district in Söderort. It is an outdoor station with the platform on a viaduct over Personnevägen, and it has two ticket halls – one north towards Sedelvägen up on the ridge itself and one south towards Skidvägen in northern Västertorp. The station is also one of the few in the network that lacks the art that otherwise characterizes Stockholm's subway. Hägerstensåsen's civic center, which was inaugurated in 1957, is also located in the district.
