About the station and area
Masmo was commissioned on 1 October 1972 and was the metro's first cave station, blasted into the rock. The station is about 20–45 meters underground. It is decorated with the work "Take the sun in the subway" from 1971 by Staffan Hallström and Lasse Andréasson, painted plates on the rock wall. At the entrance stand about 40 orange-red poles that the architectural firm Land arkitektur added in 2015. The station serves the residential area Masmo in the Vårby municipality in Huddinge municipality, near the Gömmaren nature reserve and Albysjön.
