About the station and area
Stureby is one of the Green Line's stations in Söderort and was inaugurated in its current, permanent form on October 1, 1953. Unlike the inner city's rock-excavated stations, Stureby is above ground with an outdoor platform, and the distance to Slussen is 5.8 kilometers. In 2012, the station received an artistic decoration in the form of a sculpture in green patinated bronze by Carin Ellberg – a work that links to Stockholm's subway, often referred to as the world's longest art exhibition.
